Optician opens new store

A new opticians has opened its doors in Newton Mearns, providing ten new job opportunities and representing a £250,000 investment in the area.

Specsavers Newton Mearns opened in The Avenue Shopping Centre last week, providing locals with access to eyecare and hearing services.

The state-of-the-art store has two test rooms featuring the latest technology and equipment. As well as offering eyecare, advanced audiology services are also available with a dedicated hearing centre within the store.

The store is managed by Emma Robb who is qualified to prescribe medicines for minor eye conditions which will save local residents a trip to their GP.

Ruth Lalor, store director at Specsavers said: ‘We are delighted to announce our arrival in Newton Mearns. It’s an exciting new venture which both the team and I are extremely passionate about. We’re committed to providing residents with the best optical and hearing services and we have one of the strongest offerings in the area.”
