Calling all bright sparks - events are being held this week for 750 females school pupils


The girls aged 10-14 will hear from female STEM role models and take part in hands on STEM workshops.
500 girls will attend the first event at Glasgow Caledonian University, and a further 250 girls will attend the second at Strathclyde University.

Research shows that science and tech jobs will grow twice as fast as other occupations but the number of women working in core STEM industries in Scotland is just one in five. These events will offer more than 750 girls across the city the chance to learn about the benefits of STEM careers.
