Could you help midweek charity drive in Cumbernauld with quality used clothes for children?

A good cause which helps needy families is staging one of its donation hours on Wednesday (December 16) at its headquarters at Lennox House in Seafar.

Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Care Baby and School Uniform bank will have volunteers standing by between 6pm and 7pm where pre-loved items can be handed in at the front door - so as to fully respect guidelines on social distancing.

The group can only accept items they have room to store and have a drawn up a special list of goods that will be gratefully received this evening.

These are general clothing for girls and boys, from age two right up to teenagers -and warm coats for over 10s would be particularly appreciated.

Also required are new packs of vests, pants, socks and pyjamas for all ages including smaller sizes of adult boxer shorts and ladies pants sized eight to 10.

Although welcome at other times baby clothes and equipment cannot be accepted at this point -because of the storage issue mentioned before.

It is stressed too that the group does not have any laundry facilities or means to repair items, so donations must be in clean and pristine condition.

The items will be distributed via a number of partnership organisations who provide lifeline assistance to families who need a bit of extra support year round, such as North Lanarkshire Women’s aid and Glasgow The Caring City.
