Team Holyrood from Holyrood Secondary School impressed the experienced judging panel with their business idea for a tablet and microphone device that would allow teacher instructions to be translated into various languages, as more than 30 languages are spoken at the school itself.

Pupils Asad Khan, Hassan Ahmad and Iman Khan from team Holyrood said: “The competition has been so much fun and we’ve learnt so many new business skills that we are excited to use in the future. It was a big step for us to present our pitch in front of such a big audience, we never could have done it three months ago!”

The team’s mentor said: “We’re so proud of the boys, it’s been fantastic to see them grow and present such a professional pitch. It’s great to give young people an opportunity to shine as often they don’t get many chances to. The Enterprise Challenge has helped them realise their talents.”

The winning team from Skinners’ Academy in London was awarded £2500 for their school and a £500 seed fund to help make their winning idea a reality. The other finalists in the incredibly close Final were from Gordon’s School in Surrey, Ladybridge High School in Bolton, Dixons Academy in Bradford and Hodge Hill College in Birmingham.
