It’s child’s play at Cairnhill Woods at Bearsden
Lorraine Fellowes started the fun initiative at Cairnhill Woods, which includes as fairy den, with her husband just two weeks ago.
She came up with the idea after visiting a children’s wood in Glasgow a while back during maternity leave.

“This is about children of all ages enjoying the woods. It is a work in progress so I plan to expand on what is there and will take us to where the children’s imagination does.
“I have been contacted by members of the community looking to develop it by offering sessions from the RSPB for example. Westerton Nursery are keen to use the children’s wood. A local enterprise has also contacted me to use it as a Forest School in the holidays and childminders plan to use the woods once they start back. I am hoping schools at Westerton and Colquhon Park are able to utilise it, too.
“I regularly get messages of support from the community or people walking in the woods whichis great. social distancing is respected.
