A hearty response

Cumbernauld shoppers have helped the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland raise no less than £335,000 from its Lanarkshire shops over the past year.

People who donated items helped boost the total as well as those who bought goods.

Diane Daley, BHF Scotland’s local area manager, said: “We’re truly overwhelmed with the on-going generosity of communities across Lanarkshire.

“People often don’t realise that the sofa or dress they donate to or buy from their local BHF Scotland shop actually raises vital funds and helps pay for anything from defibrillator in their own community to training for a specialist heart nurse.”

The Cumbernauld shop sells everything from clothes, shoes and handbags to DVDs and books.
