The Haven supports people affected by illness such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease and dementia and offers a programme of support designed to help individuals cope with the physical, emotional and practical aspects of their illness.

Hide AdSaid a spokeswoman: “The charity provides support for people at all stages from the point of diagnosis onwards.
“The Haven operates as a drop-in centre with no need for medical referral and all services are provided free of charge.
“This new programme of activities is open to anyone in the Clydesdale area who has been affected by a life-limiting illness.

Hide Ad“The programme will include taster sessions of complementary therapies such as reflexology, massages, reiki and aromatherapy, a relaxation group, a walking group, information sessions on volunteering opportunities as well as offering a creative space to relax and unwind.“
Louise Gardner, service development co-ordinator at The Haven said: “There are sessions and activities to suit everyone; a range of complementary therapies will be offered which may help to reduce anxiety and stress as well as enhancing wellbeing and improving the quality of life.
“Our Lifting Your Spirits relaxation group is time just for you to relax and breathe and will introduce you to practical tools of self-help which will help to enhance your sense of well-being, the Active Steps Walking Group allows you to enjoy the fresh air, gentle exercise and good chat in the beautiful surroundings.
