Benefit night in memory of tragic Aimee

A benefit night in memory of Newarthill teenager Aimee Sweeney took place at TJ's Sports Bar in Motherwell on Saturday.

Aimee died in January after taking ill while walking her dog near the family home in Cyprus, where they had lived since 2016.

The event featured a pool tournament during the day which was won by Chris Totten, the current European Snooker Champion, and at night there was a raffle, auction, buffet, and DJ.

A total of £3000 was raised for Asthma UK and the Anaphylaxis Campaign, and Aimee’s uncle Jamie McPherson, who organised the event, would like to thank everyone for their support.
