Covid cases start to soar again in East Dunbartonshire

Covid cases have started to rise again in East Dunbartonshire - after a reprieve.

The latest figures released today reveal there were 43 cases per 100,000 people in the week from 19-25 September. The total number of positive cases was 47, a jump of more than 20.

The average area in Scotland had 35.

The latest news is disappointing as just a week ago, cases had dropped. This came after new restrictions banning people from meeting indoors, introduced at the beginning of the month.

Between September 12-18, there were 25 cases per 100,000 people and 27 positive cases in total.

The number of deaths in East Dunbartonshire remains at 139.
