Covid: Latest figures for East Dunbartonshire ahead of a review on restrictions

The numbers of coronavirus cases in East Dunbartonshire continue to rise.

According to Public Health Scotland, the seven-day positive cases locally based on people tested between January 2 and January 8 was 333.

The seven-day positive rate per 100,000 of the population was 306.5.

This is up on the previous seven-day period - from December 27 and January 2 – when the total number of positive cases was 288. Per 100,000, it was 265.1.

First Minister Nciola Sturgeon said she will confirm news of any additional lockdown restrictions after meeting with her Cabinet tomorrow morning (Tuesday). Further action may have to be taken to stem the rise in cases in Scotland.
