Health bosses identify next vaccine priority group

NHS Lanarkshire has provided an update on its vaccination programme which has now reached more than 100,000 patients.

The wider roll-out phase has featured mass vaccination centres run in conjunction with the Army at Motherwell Theatre and The Sir Matt Busby Sports Complex in Bellshill.

Care home residents, the over 80s, the housebound and healthcare staff were the first to be targeted and the current operation has seen people in their 70s receiving their jabs, along with the clinically vulnerable. All appointments for those in this age group have been issued.

A spokesperson said: “The next group is all those 65 years and over. Appointments will be issued in coming days. Everyone eligible will get an appointment.”
