Covid: Latest figures for East Dunbartonshire

Covid cases in East Dunbartonshire have seen a substantial drop.

For the seven days up to February 14, positive cases in the area fell to 55.2 in 100,000, according to the latest data from Public Health Scotland (PHS). The total number of positive cases was 60.

This compares to the worrying 265.1 cases per 100,000 locally at the start of January and total number of 288.

Some neighbourhoods in the area have been described by PHS as “suppressed”, meaning there are fewer than three positive cases.

Today (Thursday,) these were: Milton of Campsie; Kirkintilloch West; Harestanes; Hillhead; Kirkintilloch South; Lenzie South; Woodhill East/West; Bishopbriggs West and Cadder; Bishopbriggs North and Kenmure; Torrance and Balmore.

Auchinair, Twechar and Harestanes East, and Lennoxtown had the highest number of cases with a seven-day rate per 100,000 population of around 140- 149.

While Lenzie North and Rosebank and Waterside had between 90-97 positive cases per 100,000.
