New chief officer appointed for East Dunbartonshire

The East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) has appointed anew Chief Officer called Susan Manion who takes up her new role on December 12.

This follows the retirement of previous Chief Officer, Karen Murray.

Susan joins East Dunbartonshire with significant experience in leading health and social care and has held a number of key posts including Chief Officer in the Scottish Borders, General Manager for the Dunfermline and West Fife Community Health Partnership, and Director of Primary Care at the Camden Primary Care Trust.

Susan said, “I am enthusiastic and passionate about improving health and care services for individuals and communities. East Dunbartonshire has an excellent track record in the field of health and social care and I am keen to build on this, working with staff, service users and communities.”

Councillor Rhondda Geekie, Chairperson of East Dunbartonshire HSCP, welcomed the appointment. She said, “I am delighted to welcome Mrs Manion to the team, her wealth of experience means that she is the ideal person to lead the continued development of health and social care integration.”
