Over 70 people took part in the interactive activities which challenged the attitudes towards mental health, and the public were also interviewed and asked their own thoughts on mental health.

Soundminds is part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival, and aims to challenge the stigma of mental health through music.

Meanwhile, Airdrie and Shotts MP Neil Gray has given his support to a new-look website which offers help and support to those affected by mental health issues.

The website, www.elament.org.uk, is supported by the Lanarkshire Recovery Network to offer advice, information on services and self-help resources.

Mr Gray said: “It is easy for people with mental health conditions to feel isolated very quickly.

“It is always best to talk about what you are feeling, but this website gives people an additional opportunity to search for help themselves, look at what’s on offer and decide on the best course of action for them.

“It has been compiled by professionals and people with first-hand experience but is straight-forward and easy to use.”
