90-year-old Biggar artist Kim stages exhibition

Veteran artist...Kim Redpath still at his easle almost seventy years after graduating from art college

After all, he’s still hard at work every day despite the fact that next week he’ll be celebrating his 90th birthday!

And it’s a celebration he wants to share with us all by staging an exhibition of his works at the town’s Corn Exchange, starting on Saturday, March 28.

The man who has gone on to be one of Scotland’s most revered artists was born in Aberdeen in 1925.

He graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 1948 before starting what was to be a 35-year-long and highly successful teaching career.

Art was always very much ‘in the blood’ for him, Kim being a nephew of the legendary Scottish artist Anne Redpath OBE, whose influence can be seen in his paintings to this day.

His 90th birthday falls on the opening weekend of this solo exhibition of his work in The Art Gallery at the Biggar Corn Exchange.

He will be personally present to meet and talk to visitors and fans during the opening weekend on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29,

Kim will be there from 2pm to 4pm on both days.

The exhibition will run until Sunday, April 12, open 10am to 4pm Tuesdays to Fridays and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
