A little off the Fringe

IT’S not just Edinburgh that hosts the top comedy talents in August, Glasgow is also getting in on the action.

Glaswegians can avoid the tourists and the hectic hustle and bustle of the Fringe, instead just focus on the comedy several times this month at the Stand in the westend.

Former Perrier award nominee Bruce Morton, who came on to the scene in 1988 winning the ‘so you think you’re funny’ award, introduces a handpicked selection of some of the best Fringe acts, beginning tonight with Zoe Lyons and her steam train ramblings.

Michael Redmond takes his turn of the hosting duties on Sunday when Gerry Howell, Nat Luurtsema and Ava Vidal perform.

Billy Kirkwood makes the trip on Wedmesday, bringing Ryan McDonnel and Tiffany Stevenson with him.
