THERE was a feast of dancing at Carluke Leisure Centre recently when members of the Livingstone School of Dance took to the stage.

Around 50 dancers took part in the dance school’s 67th annual show.

Those attending were certainly not disappointed with just about every type of dance showcased, including Highland, tap, modern, ballet and contemporary.

This year’s venue was switched from Carluke Lifestyles Centre to the Leisure Centre just up the road, but despite the change of venue, Livingstone School of Dance principal Margaret Todd was thrilled with the way the performances went.

She said: “We had a really wide variety of dances on show and all the girls were fantastic.

“Dance teachers Jane Masters and Carol Moore, along with our junior helpers, did an excellent job of getting everything ready for the shows. I’m very pleased that the school is still going strong even after our 67th annual show, which is quite incredible.

“We were in the Carluke Welfare Hall for more than 40 years, so we were sad to leave there when it closed its doors.

“Having the show in the Leisure Centre was fine and the staff there were great with us.

“I’ve always loved teaching and it’s great to see girls starting when they are four or five and carrying on dancing as they grow up.”
