Author Catriona comes to Biggar for special event

READERS are being invited to meet Scottish author Catriona McPherson at a special evening in Biggar next week.

Catriona, who was born in South Queensferry in 1965 and graduated from Edinburgh University, worked in Edinburgh City Libraries, went back to university to do a PhD and, after a short career in an academic setting, resigned and began to write.

Her character, Dandelion Dahlia Gilver (nee Leson), born in 1886, to an upper class family, took off.

Her first appearance was in After the Armistice Ball, published in 2005, and further books have followed.

Catriona will be at Atkinson Pryce Books in Biggar on Thursday, July 19, at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £3, which includes a glass of wine, and advanced booking is recommended.
