Biggar archaeologists to appear in Digging in Britain BBC documentary

Biggar archaeologists will appear in the BBC documentary Digging in Britain series this autumn.

Filming took place at the weekend at Daer where the group is excavating a series of prehistoric sites which have been revealed by forestry planting.

The location chosen for the film, which is about the Stone Age, is a Mesolithic hunter-gatherer camp site lying on the side of a hill and overlooking the Daer Water.

Group organiser Tam Ward said: “The site is over six thousand years old and has lain undisturbed until the forest plough exposed it.
