Biggar Day Out jam packed with exciting events

IT’S all happening in Biggar today as the annual Biggar Day Out takes place with events running throughout the day and into the night.

The High Street will packed with plenty of street entertainment while the festival food fair in both the Municipal and St Mary’s Halls will have plenty of goodies to tingle your tastebuds.

Several organisations are throwing their doors open for the day with everyone from Biggar Puppet Theatre to the town’s Masonic Lodge taking part.

A bargain book fair is also being held in the Puppet Theatre from 10am to 3.30pm while the Biggar Gas Works will host a steam day from noon until 4.30pm.

Henna hand painting is available at the Taj Mahal restaurant and budding musicians can strut their stuff at the Corn Exchange’s Open Stage, taking place all afternoon.

Atkinson-Pryce Bookshop is the venue for the Storytrail - Room on a Broom from 2pm while the more sporty of us can take part in the 5km Fun Run which kicks-off at noon at Biggar Showfield.

In the evening, the Eastfield and Harthill Flute Orchestra will be in concert at St Mary’s Hall from 7pm and folkies will head to the Corn Exchange for an evening with Andy and Flora Munro.
