Tommy Reilly shot to fame after winning Channel 4’s Orange Unsigned Act competition in 2009 and scooped a record deal with A&M.

He has since released two albums, saw his first single ‘Gimme A Call’ reach number 14 in the UK Singles Chart, toured with The Proclaimers and performed in Texas and New York.

Tommy, from Torrance, has recorded his third album with producer Paul Savage, who has worked with the likes of Franz Ferdinand.

The 23-year-old hopes that his followers will buy a number of goodies to help raise money to release the album, fund a tour and possibly make a video.

By logging on to ‘Pledge Music’ you can purchase a number of exclusive items from ordering the new album, to signed posters and even signing up to have Tommy record a cover song of your choice.

Once Tommy reaches his fundraising target, some of the money thereafter will go to his chosen charity, Mary’s Meals.

Tommy, a former Torrance Primary pupil told the Herald: “If anyone is interested in getting the record out there it would be great if they visited the website.

“I think it’s a really nice idea and a lot of bands are doing it now.

“It’s about asking the people to help get the record out there. There’s no record label involved trying to change it. About a third has been raised already.”

Tommy has yet to come up with a name for the new album, but says it’s a bit different to his last two.

He added: “I’m a big fan of Paul’s and I’m really happy with the album. I asked some musicians from Glasgow I really like to play, so it’s a bit more of other people on it which works nicely.”
