Every year, the two organisations come together to celebrate their achievements and to recognise those individuals who have worked tirelessly to achieve the Queen’s Badge, the highest award in both groups.

The morning began with a Parade, led by award-winning Wishaw and District Brigade Band, of which the BB and GB are both members.

The service is usually followed by a return Parade and March Past but the weather intervened this year and put a stop to it. But those who were presented with the Queen’s Award cut their cake and shared it round.

The full story on the event is in this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette.
