Carluke Choices shop comes of age – raising £427,000

VOLUNTEERS at Choices Charity Shop in Carluke held its 21st birthday bash knowing there were thousands of reasons to celebrate.

The shop, which was opened by a hearty band of St John’s Church members on February 27, 1993, has raised a staggering £427,000 over the years – with the cash being split between the town’s Street Level project, Christian Aid and many other local and national charities.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

At the celebrations, the cake was ceremoniously cut by long time volunteers Mary Ramage and Jean Shields.

Volunteer Iris Nelson said: “Choices has developed over the years beyond all expectations.”
