Carnwath Primary kids get maths lesson from top darts player

Pupils at Carnwath Primary School received a maths lesson with a difference – from Scottish darts ace Gary Stone.

Gary, who lives in Larkhall, is Scotland’s number one player on the British Darts Organisation (BDO) circuit and explained to pupils the importance of maths in his sport.

He made the trip to the school before flying out to Holland for a big tournament, playing several legs and getting P7 pupils to subtract and add scores, add scores and multiply and divide doubles and trebles.

Gary (30) also gave one lucky parent the chance to compete against him – complete with their own walk-on music.

It all amounted to a fantastic morning.
