Carstairs Primary’s P4-7 pupils’ performance of the panto-style musical Cinderella and Rockerfella was a roaring success. The children’s superb singing almost raised the roof off the new school building and their comic acting was perfection.

Also having a fabulous time were the youngsters at Victoria Park who performed in Jesus’ Christmas Party.

Victoria Park head teacher Anne Fisher said: “We had Mary and Joseph, wise men, shepherds, lambs and even camels. The whole school took part and all the children had a great time.”

Gazette photographer Lindsay Addison was on hand to capture the fun at Carstairs Primary and freelance photographer Andrew Wilson was entertained by pupils at Victoria Park.
