As part of project, entitled Citizen Science, children have been visiting local nature sites with South Lanarkshire Council Countryside Rangers to learn about flora and fauna.

Rob Gallagher-Reilly, programme manager for Impact Arts said: “The Young Gallery started out as a small project in the East End of Glasgow and now to bring this fun and creative programme to Clydesdale.

“There are many benefits for children who take part, including being able to express themselves creatively and engage with the arts, improving social skills and confidence and helping them develop a positive and aspirational attitude towards the future.

Citizen Science has been delivered with Heritage Lottery funding and supported by Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership (CAVLP) and the council.

The schools taking part are Crawfordyke, Braidwood, Kirkton, High Mill, Carluke, Forth, St Athanasius and Law Primary Schools as well as children from Victoria Park School.
