Coalburn Bronze Band members take gold

Coalburn Bronze Band members brought back the gold medals last weekend when they became the 2012 Scottish Youth Brass Band Champions in the Preparatory Section.

The Bronze Band comprises children from all over Clydesdale.

They performed at the stunning Perth Concert Hall where they faced eight other bands in their section.

Under the leadership of musical director, Jayne Brownlie, the youngsters produced a wonderful programme of music, playing Pierre Ghint’s Swingin’ With The Mountain King then a brass compilation from the musical Grease.

At the nail-biting award ceremony, Coalburn Bronze Band was one of three to be awarded a Gold Certificate, swiftly followed by the announcement that Coalburn were champions.
