Condemned man is happy!

A CLYDESDALE photographer is celebrating having been named the Landscape Photographer of the Year Award.Simon Butterworth, who lives just outside Biggar, picked up the award at the National Theatre in London for his shot entitled Condemned.

The photograph shows a condemned tenement in Port Glasgow and also saw him take home the Urban View award.

It is the first time that an urban shot has landed the top prize and 55-year-old Simon is delighted to have taken home the leading award.

He said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to bits to win such a prestigious award.

“The competition has been a great focus for myself and other landscape photographers since its inception six years ago.
