Cumbernauld bands to play at canal festival

The festival runs over Saturday and Sunday, with an open-air concert taking place in Peel Park on the Sunday.

Rock bands The Replay, Make This Relate and Perfect Remedy all hail from the Cumbernauld are and will be performing alongside East Dunbartonshire band The Acutones. There will also be a special mystery guest. Performances begin at 12.30pm with the Replay opening proceedings.

Councillor Billy Hendry, Depute Leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said: “As part of this year’s festival, Peel Park will offer live music, providing the ideal spot for outdoor entertainment in Kirkintilloch. This will also highlight the town as a great leisure destination for locals, neighbours and tourists as well as music and canal enthusiasts.

“It’s a great way to welcome people to Kirkintilloch at the same time as promoting local talent and local businesses and highlighting the potential of the town to future investors.”

There is a wide selection of entertainment at the canal festival during the weekend, with everything from fire eaters to belly dancers in attendance.
