First up on August 31 is play The List, a Canadian drama about a woman struggling to cope with life in the city. This production from Stellar Quines stars Maureen Beattie.

The following night (September 1) offers a treat for music lovers as Eagles tribute Hotel California deliver renditions of several of the band’s hits.


For two nights beginning Thursday, September 6, you can see Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut, an homage to the classic film which sees Gavin Mitchell (Still Game) impersonates Bogie alongside Claire Waugh and Jimmy Chisholm.

September 8 sees another visit by Strange Bird Zircus with their show Ornithology. Strange Bird are noted for their performances which feature extensive use of high-wire acrobatics.


On Thursday, September 13, Heartbeat come to town with their show “The Story of the Sixties”. Heartbeat recently released a CD featuring hits by Roy Orbison, Louis Armstrong and The Mamas and the Papas, among others.

On Saturday, September 15, Gaelic group Dannsa will bring their tour to Cumbernauld, promising dynamic, exciting music and traditional dancing.


The Noizy Indie Social Club will be hosting A Festival of Music on Saturday, September 22. This all-day event will feature over 20 of the best bands and performers from around the Scottish music scene.


Local drama group the Apex Players rounds off the season with their production of Sex, Drugs and Rick & Noel, a tale of two mature students at university.
