Cumbernauld’s Corbies goes acoustic

THIS Friday the Twa Corbies goes unplugged with a night of acoustic music featuring two bands: Trilogy and The Beatin Generals.

Trilogy started out as a trio although they recently became a four-piece. Specialising in close harmonies they play guitar, bass, flute and dobro, with a setlist of original material and covers of The Beatles, Damien Rice and more.

The Beatin Generals are singer Michelle Jean on vocals and lead guitar, Davy on backing vocals plus guitar, drums or beatbox, and bassist Aiden.

The members have all been playing in different bands for years but recently formed a new band together. The Generals have played various venues including the Smiddy Inn in Cumbernauld and various Glasgow venues. Michelle Jean writes most of the material, citing Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Tom Petty and Andwella’s Dream as influences. The acoustic night starts at 8pm on Friday and entry is just £3.

Meanwhile, the lineup of gigs for September has also been announced - Dangerous Brothers on September 2; Kong on the 9th, Coy Dogs on the 16th, 2 Can Dan on the 23rd and The Demon’s Eye on the 30th.
