Disco-ho-ho

A GROUP of noble youngsters have arranged a Christmas disco in Croy as a fund-raiser for a project which will benefit the youth of Kilsyth and villages.

The event will take place at the Croy Miners’ Welfare centre, Nethercroy Road, on Tuesday, December 6, from 7pm to 9pm.

Tickets can be purchased from the centre and from the group representatives, priced at £1, and the disco is for children currently in primaries one to seven. The proceeds raised will be used to launch a new initiative for kids throughout the area, the full details of which will be released shortly.

The group behind the plans are a new youth action group, based at the Croy Miners’ Welfare centre.

St Maurice’s High pupil Aimee Kerr (14) has been heavily involved in all of the group’s work so far.

She said: “I have enjoyed taking part in these activities as when I leave school I would love to have the chance of working with young children and this has given me the opportunity to gain skills and boosted my confidence.

“In these activities I was joined by my friends who all played a big part and helped each other out.”
