Douglasdale Folk Festival set to begin

THE Douglasdale Folk Festival is due to kick off again and it has a new home this time around.

The St Bride’s Centre in Douglas plays host to the fourth year of the festival and as well as the confirmed acts there will be an open stage, workshops and local pub sessions.

Willie Ormiston, from the Folk Festival Committee, said: “It’s a fantastic setting for us and we are pleased to host such an amazing line-up this year.

“We always try to get a mix of established favourites and to give local talent a chance too – I think we have acheived that.”

The festival will be headlined by old favourites The Tannahill Weavers.

The Douglasdale Folk Festival takes place from Friday, September 14, to Sunday, September 16, in the St Bride’s Centre in Douglas.

Tickets are priced £7 for Friday evening, £10 for Saturday or £15 for the full weekend.
