Emmerdale actor Tom Lister attends Lanark Poundland opening

Actor Tom Lister stepped in when Tina Malone was injured and unable to make it for the official opening of Poundland in the former Woolworth store.

Despite the short notice, word of the soap star’s visit spread quickly and there was soon a queue of fans of all ages right out into the street waiting to get his autograph or have their photo taken with him.

Other shoppers were surprised to find him there: “It’s him from Emmerdale, the one that’s having affairs with everybody,” a woman exclaimed, as she worked out why the queue stretched to the door at 10am.
