Wood anemone which is the beautiful little white (sometimes tinged with pink) flower carpets the forest floor in many places.

Wood sorrel is also making an appearance!

If you’d like to learn more about the wildflowers found on the reserve and about the historical aspects of the Falls of Clyde then why not go on one of our Victorian Grand Tours.

Visitors are encouraged to wear stout footwear as the route can be muddy in parts.

Places are limited for this unique event, so please call 01555 665 262 or visit scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/events to book.

The first tour happened this past Saturday and visitors were delighted with what Lady Geraldine had to say.

In other news, we’re pretty sure we only have one peregrine egg this year and we’re not entirely sure it’s going to hatch just yet and it may take a while longer for it to do so.

The incubating of our parents is sporadic at best but fingers crossed we’ll have a chick soon!

LAURA WHITFIELD,

Falls of Clyde Ranger.
