Fireworks planned for Friday

LOCALS are reminded that Cumbernauld’s Guy Fawkes extravaganza is set to take place at Broadwood tonight (Friday, November 4) and that fireworks start at 7.30pm.

Parking is available at St Maurice’s High School in Westfield. A limited number of parking spaces will also be available at Broadwood Stadium. Hot food will be available to buy at the event but it is understood that there is to be no funfair on site this year – and nor will there be a bonfire.

Those unable to to attend the Cumbernauld event may be interested to know that NLC’s biggest fireworks display takes place the following evening, November 5, at Strathclyde Park, Motherwell.

This kicks off with the Real Radio Roadshow at 6pm. A bonfire will be lit at 7.30 and a 30 minute firework display will commence at 8.20 pm.

Both displays are FREE. Please note that unaccompanied under 12s will not be admitted to either event.
