Folk star Maggie Bell comes to Biggar

Folk fans are in for a treat as favourites Maggie Bell and Chris Farlowe head to Biggar.

Tickets are selling fast for Clydesdale Folk Club’s contribution to the Biggar Little Festival, which will be headlined by Maggie and Chris, who is backed by the Norman Beaker Band.

George Simpson, from Clydesdale Folk Club, said: “Maggie is perhaps best known as the lead singer with Stone the Crows in the late 60s and early 70s.

“She also has a string of hits as a solo artiste and sang the theme song to Taggart, No Mean City. Hold Me was another hit, in collaboration with BA. Robertson.”
