John Gervaise, Scottish FA Football development officer at East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: “We are delighted to help support one of our local grassroots clubs support their community by getting the Friday evening football league started.

“Our coaches bring lots of energy, enthusiasm and excellent football knowledge to the pitches and it’s great to be able to get young people involved in a project which will see them use football as a positive way to stay active over the summer months.

“We hope to increase the number of participants this week and will welcome all girls and boys aged 12-16 to come along. We’d love to see the sessions continue with Barrhead Youth Football Club and become a regular fixture after the ten week block.”
