Get ready for Lanark Music Connections

WHY is Lanark Music Connections better than the Olympics AND the Edinburgh Festival?Well, you can’t just turn up for either of these far bigger events to get mucked right in and take part!

That, say the organisers of the increasingly popular annual Lanark mini-festival of folk, Celtic, trad and ‘roots’ music, is its real strength.

“Getting everyone who turns up involved in some way is what this is all about,” said a Connections spokesman.

“Even if you’ve got a battered old guitar in the cupboard you haven’t played for 20 years, dust it off, bring it along and give us a song!”

And that’s sure to get everyone in the mood for the series of concerts and open mic sessions that the organisers have planned over the weekend of August 31 to September 2.

To make sure you don’t miss a moment of it, pick up a copy of this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette on Wednesday – it has a full listing of ALL events over the weekend.
