Woodhill Residents’ Group chairman Donald Macdonald, who is also a member of Bishopbriggs Community Council, wants to raise awareness of the wildlife havens at the town’s High Moss and Low Moss.

He’s in talks with Mugdock Park Rangers in a bid to have free guided tours established on the first Sunday of every month.

Donald said: “We really want to make sure both mosses are protected and enhanced.

“You can go to the midle of the High Moss and not hear any traffic, which is unusual for anywhere in Bishopbriggs.

“These are jewels in Bishopbriggs’ crown, but many people aren’t aware of what fabulous assets they are.

“You can be sure that developers are aware of them though.”

Donald is also planing bike tours of registered sites of special scientific interst, and he hopes members of the community will come up with ideas about how to enhance High Moss and Low Moss.
