High Mill Primary kids meet poet Liz Lochhead
Youngsters from High Mill Primary in Carluke had the chance to meet Scotland’s Makar (poet) Liz Lochhead, when she gave a live broadcast to children across Scotland in a special Robert Burns celebration via the Scottish Book Trust website.
The Scottish Friendly Meet Our Authors Event, run by Scottish Book Trust, was broadcast live from Glasgow on Thursday.
High Mill pupils have been following the programme avidly and their teacher wrote asking if the P6 and P7 pupils could be in the audience for the broadcast – 13 children were then delighted to be invited along.

Hide AdPupils from Oban and Girvan were also in the audience, while over 10,000 children across the UK watched in their classrooms.
