House music – Hugh Laurie’s bringing the blues to Glasgow

HE’S more famous for wielding scalpels and lacerating wit on one of TV’s biggest-ever shows.

But ‘House’ star Hugh Laurie will be concentrating on a show of a different kind when he appears in Glasgow next week.

Hugh Laurie and the Copper Bottom Band will headline Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday, June 29.

Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday February 17th, priced at £35 for Glasgow.

Hugh Laurie’s debut album ‘Let Them Talk’, released last summer to wide acclaim, garnered huge international success, achieving Top 10 chart positions internationally.

After debuting at #2 in the UK and also hitting the Billboard Top 20, the album has now sold in excess of 500,000 and has gone Gold domestically.

The album’s momentum was supported by the release of a Special Edition format which added four new recordings and a DVD to the original album.

The DVD features Hugh’s special live performance and documentary ‘Let Them Talk – A Celebration of New Orleans Blues’ which was recorded in New Orleans and features the legends Sir Tom Jones, Irma Thomas and Allen Toussaint.
