Imogen plays the fiddle and guitar and writes songs and also takes time to work with young fiddlers to help them learn more about their instrument.
Sixteen-year-old Imogen, who lives in Wiston, was delighted to pick up the award.
Mum Persephone Nichol-Bose said: “It’s a great achievement for Imogen and she was absolutely delighted to win.
“She has been playing the fiddle since she was eight-years-old and has been tutored by Clare McLaughlin.
“She has always had a passion for traditional music.”
The David Roberts Memorial Plate is organised by Hands Up for Trad and is presented at the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award semi-finals.
David Roberts was a leading figure in the development and growing success of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award and tragically died very young in June 2005.
