Jack and Douglas take centre stage in Glasgow

Two Cumbernauld boys took centre stage at The Salvation Army’s Christmas Carol Concert at George Square in Glasgow.

Two Cumbernauld boys took centre stage at The Salvation Army’s Christmas Carol Concert at George Square in Glasgow.

Jack Guild and Douglas Mitchell, both aged nine, attend the Christian movement’s church in Cumbernauld, and each gave a reading from the Bible in front of 600 people.

The concert – hosted by songstress Michelle McManus – was organised as part of the Glasgow Loves Christmas event, and gave the revered brass bands of The Salvation Army a chance to shine.

Ahead of the performance, members of the public were asked to text in their favourite five Christmas carols, or post them on Facebook or Twitter.
