She was inspired to begin learning clarsach (Scottish Celtic harp) at the age of ten when a short workshop was given to her.

She followed that by studying clarsach with acclaimed Celtic harpist and composer Savourna Stevenson.

Elinor was also principal harpist of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland for two years and during the NYOS 2012 summer tour, she took part in a joint concert with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Proms season.

Elinor is passionate about chamber music and has formed duos performing with flute, saxophone and voice. The concert is at the Institute, New Lanark, this Saturday at 7.45pm. Tickets, priced £10, are available from Tariq Newsagents, Playful Greetings in Bannatyne Street, the New Lanark Gift Shop, and online from the MiL website.
