Lesmahagow author Scott Perrie releases new book

BY day Scott Perrie sells windows and conservatories.

But at night and in his lunchtime, he writes.

And the first result of five years’ work is awesome.

The Wrong Tree is a huge book, a glorious epic which pokes fun at the current popular novels uncovering long lost religious secrets.

Scott’s book features the usual suspects but all with their own kink - a journalist previously restricted to music columns, a photographer convinced he was abducted by aliens in childhood, an archaeologist who packs a punch, and the most chilling assassin ever encountered.

And it also has a merry romp through history, following a secret society protecting the sacred bloodline through the ages - or not, as the case may be.

Set in Scotland - opening in a comprehensive school and moving to a Hebridean island - the action is all delivered in a hilarious style, crammed with scenes to make you laugh out loud and keep you laughing long afterwards.

“It was something that brewed inside me for a long, long time,” said Scott (48) from Lesmahagow.

“I had this ambition to write a novel, and it sort of grew in my head.”
