Martin Clunes in Lanark horsing around

There was no chance of actor Martin Clunes behaving badly when he came to Lanark.

Martin, (49) was joined by wife Philippa and daughter Emily to help celebrate 25 years of Lanark Equi Centre being a British Horse Society (BHS) approved centre.

As the newly-elected President of the BHS, Men Behaving Badly and Doc Martin star Martin took part in a special ride-out through the town and a charity Gala Ball at New Lanark in aid of the BHS and the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

Martin said: “I was elected President in June but I was right in the middle of filming Doc Martin so this is only my third outing.

“It’s such a privilege when you look out and see such beautiful scenery like you have in this part of Scotland.

“To have had something like this here for the last 25 years and to have it keep growing during that time is remarkable. It just proves that when you go the extra mile it makes all the difference.”
