In the spotlight this week is Steve Chandler from Kilsyth.

1.What do you think is the most beautiful spot in Kilsyth?

I enjoy a walk along the canal that runs past Kilsyth in the summer. It’s very peaceful.

2.Name your favourite band of all time.

The Jesus and Mary Chain. Basically the band who made me passionate about music. Before them I was just a casual listener.

3.What do you consider to the be most over-rated virtue?

I was jokingly going to say chastity but my wife would kill me. I’ll go for temperance instead.

4.What is your favourite film?

Impossible to say really but I’ve been re-watching Shane Meadows movies recently. A Room For Romeo Brass, Dead Man’s Shoes and This Is England are all astonishing.

5.What modern day gadget could you not live without?

My PC.

6.Where is your ideal holiday destination?

Singapore. I spent three weeks there in 2011 and fell in love with the place.

7.Who is your favourite person?

Sickbags at the ready folks. My wife. I’d be useless without her.

8.What qualities do you value in a friend?

Loyalty and a good taste in music.

9.Who is your favourite character in fiction?

There’s loads. But at the moment I’m terribly fond of Tyrion Lannister from George R. R. Martin’s stunning Game of Thrones series of books.

10.What motto do you live your life by?

It’s got to be Semper Fidelis - always faithful.
