New season set to start for Music in Lanark

Since 2000, Music in Lanark has been bringing exceptional talent to the people of Clydesdale.

Every October through to the following March, Lanarkians can enjoy concerts showcasing a wide range of styles, from classical chamber music, opera and jazz to traditional Scottish.

And this season is no exception.

Kicking off with a pre-series concert, on August 24, with ceilidh band Reely Jiggered, a wide range of musicians will dazzle the music- loving public.

Jamie Hill, from Music in Lanark, said: “We are very excited about each of the acts who will be coming along and it’s sure to be our best season of events to date.

“We have tried to get as wide a range of acts as we possibly can and we are hopeful that as many people as possible will enjoy the concerts.

“As well as Reely Jiggered performing on August 24 in the Clydesdale Inn, they will be at schools in both Lanark and Carluke where they will host workshops and that’s a great thing for us.”
