Our Lady’s celebrates 50 years of opera in Lanarkshire

Rehearsals are underway for a spectacular spring time musical revue celebrating Our Lady’s Light Opera Group’s golden jubilee.

The society first trod the boards with a production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado in May 1962 and since then has produced over 70 shows, ranging from light opera to huge West End and Broadway blockbusters.

The revue in May, titled Musical Gold – Past Present Future, is a fabulous mix of musical numbers from traditional shows such as Fiddler on the Roof to more modern productions such as Grease, and the Queen-based musical We Will Rock You.
